Timeline: Look back at the foundation

2002-2003: The beginning

With a lot of brainstorming with members and inspiration from our founder, Medhospital began as an information portal and had a web-address www.medhospital.com that was later changed to www.medhospital.info. We decided to address issues concerning insufficient consumer knowledge as our top priority.

2004: The formative year

In 2004 www.medhospital.com became www.medhospital.org. It was the birth of a web-based organization with well-defined rules and regulations. Most of us were still struggling with the format and presentation of health information. How much and what to include. Medhospital underwent many changes in its presentation format.

2005: The Medhospital Foundation

Looking at our progress in 2004 we were proud but not satisfied. We decided we will have projects to give shape to our initiatives. We formed the Medhospital Foundation. This foundation was structured in a different way than most conventional foundations. We decided not to create funds for other people but fund our own projects and projects that are carried out for or with us. This decision allowed us to broaden our horizons and the impact we can create as an information provider. Our main focus still remains the same.

2006: Reflection and evaluation

Dramatic changes in digital information technology within the past few years has restructured the way information is communicated and distributed. We therefore faced a challenge of reinventing ways of training our readers and reformatting the way we provide information. It was therefore time for us to evaluate our strategies.

2007: Five years of impact

It is five years we set off for this wonderful and eventful journey. We extend our hearty congratulations to all the members and all our visitors without whose help and efforts, this would never be possible.

After assessing the foundation's work, results and priorities from 2002-2007, the report ‘Five years journey' presents Indrajit Sinha's vision for the Foundation for the next five years.
