Dementia
It is a change in the brain function causing a serious change in the memory, personality and behavior.
Symptoms:
- Serious change in habits
- Sleeplessness
- Anxiety
- Depression
Causes:
- Old age
- Some neurological disorders
- Alzheimer's disease
- Some structural changes in the brain.
- Small stokes causing blood clots in the brain.
Diagnosis:
- By medical history
- Tests of blood and urine
- Brain scans such as CT and MRI.
Treatment:
- Some conditions of dementia are reversible while some are not.
- Some drugs can help but has to be under medical supervisions as there are many forms and diseases associated with dementia.
