Neck pain

Neck pain is really a pain in the neck! This disease can be due to innumerable causes and may have innumerable implications. It is one of those diseases that are hardly well understood.

Facts to know:

  • It is the most mobile part of the whole spine.
  • It is the link between the brain, the spinal cord and rest of the body nervous system. It is very delicate.
  • The pain in the neck can be felt somewhere else in the body as well, such as the chest, abdomen, limbs etc. Such a condition is called referred pain.

Symptoms:

  • Stiffness of the neck region
  • Loss of mobility of the neck
  • Some of the major causes:
  • Neck injury
  • Stress and strain
  • Wrong posture
  • Sports
  • Poor body mechanics
  • Osteoarthritis

Treatment:

Nothing is mentioned here because self therapy is something absolutely unrecommendable. A physician should be definitely consulted. The reason is simple; it requires a lot to diagnose the reason behind neck pain.

Note:

The neck pain can be far more catastrophic and of greater importance than any other bone related pain. Treat it with utmost urgency.

If you have neck pain for no reason, please treat it with lot of caution as well.
