Nose bleeding

Bleeding from the nose is referred as nose bleeding.

Causes:

• Cold or allergy of the nose
• Pocking the nose
• Hard nose blowing
• Hard hit or blow on the nose
• Cold winter or dry air can cause nose bleeding.

Prevention:

• Gently put a little bit of jelly inside the nose to prevent drying.
• Saline nasal drops also help.
• If you have a tendency of nose bleeding do not exert too much.

Treatment:

• Sitting quietly with head up is the best.
• Press nostrils tight and breath from mouth for about ten minutes in one go. 
• Pressing ice on the nose also helps.
• When in sensitive condition release sneeze through the mouth.

Facts:

• Bleeding should stop in 10-15 minutes. Call the doctor if the bleeding is longer.
• It is common to see recurring nose bleeding in consecutive days as the tissues need time to heal. Be cautious during this phase.
