Breast examination

Generally breast examination is performed along with pelvic examination. It includes the inspection of your breasts for lumps, cysts, or breast cancer.

How it is done:

• The doctor does a breast examination by pressing his or her fingers on different parts of your breast.
• It is absolutely painless.
• The doctor will teach you how to do self examination as well.

Note:

• It may be a good idea to self examine oneself often.
• Any change felt, however small, it may be worth getting it checked.
