Deep sea diving

What are the dangers?

While diving, nitrogen bubbles are formed in the tissues of the body and the blood. Bubbles occur if you surface from the depths very fast. This is called decompression sickness.

Symptoms:

  • Headache
  • Tiredness
  • Pain in joints
  • In severe cases, it can lead to unconsciousness or even death.

Prevention:

  • Dive within the limits set in the diving charts.
  • Rate of ascent should be kept to a minimum.
  • Do not dive more than three times a day.
  • Do not do any hard work before or after diving.
  • Drink a lot of water before diving.
  • Make sure you are in good health.
  • Do not travel by air within 24 hours of your diving.

Note:

It is wise not to fly within 24 hours of diving.
